Notes for the Genus:

Schwantesia

The genus Schwantesia occurs in southern Namibia and the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. The generally keeled leaves grow tightly around the stem, obscuring it from view, much like Lapidaria. The leaves range in color from green to bluish-gray. The yellow flowers can appear at any time during the year. Undemanding, they make ideal pot subjects and prefer strong light. They are propagated by seed.
