Notes for the Genus:

Conicosia

The genus Conicosia occurs in the Western and Northern Cape Provinces of South Africa and in Namibia. The plants are characterized by elongated leaves growing on flat stems and bright yellow flowers. The plants are rarely cultivated, though they have been introduced to Australia and California, where they have become invasive weeds. The large yellow flowers, however, do make them attractive pot subjects. They thrive in sandy soil and dry summers. They are easily propagated by seed.
